Declan Mangan... a
retiring personality? Declan Mangan, is well known, and widely respected for his leadership, as well as his acting and singing talents as the Dame in Killorglin's famous traditional Panto. He has now written a musical which creates a fascinating picture of a true Irish legend, Johnny Patterson, the Rambler from Clare. Declans tribute to the 'Rambler from Clare' is the story of a man with not only an exceptional comic wit, but also that rare musical gift that can create melodies and lyrics that survive long after the death of their author. It is the story of a man whose songs and humour touched not thousands, but millions over the years, and who though he only ever set out to amuse and entertain, died tragically, violently and prematurely at the tender age of forty-nine. .
